The Dark Peak is situated at the northern half of the Peak District. Made mostly of grit stone, the area can be desolate and exposed, with sprawling heather moorland tops, and oak-birch woodlands. For that true ‘get away’ hike, the Dark Peak is a must.
Walk 3: Chatsworth Moors and Stately Doors
A walk that showcases the best of the beautiful, famous Chatsworth Estate and the surrounding area. You will hike through enchanting woods, open rugged moors, and through impressive stately grounds. Stop for a wander around the Chatsworth House courtyards, where you can also grab a cup of tea or lunch.
Walk 1: Gorgeous Padley Gorge
A truly stunning hike that showcases the magical, ancient woodland of Padley Gorge as well as a stroll alongside the River Derwent, a climb up Millstone Edge, and exploration of the beautiful Longshaw Estate.
